This Privacy Policy explains how StudyTok AI (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile apps, website, and related services. It also explains how to contact us and exercise your privacy rights.
Our Terms of Service describe the rules for using StudyTok AI. This policy describes our data practices; it does not replace any separate permission required by applicable law.
We process your account identifier, name, email address where provided, sign-in method, account timestamps, and information needed to maintain your signed-in sessions. For email/password accounts, we store a securely hashed password, not the original password.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive information needed to verify your sign-in, such as an identity token, a provider-specific identifier, and your name and email address when made available. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose to hide your email. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
Google, Apple, and email/password accounts are separate, even when their email addresses match. We do not automatically link those accounts or combine their study content.
We receive information needed to manage purchases and subscription access, such as your app account identifier, purchased product, transaction references, subscription status, and renewal or expiration information. Apple and Google handle payment details for purchases made through their stores; we do not receive your full payment-card details from those purchases. We also receive information you include when contacting support.
When you connect to the Service, we and our infrastructure providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device details, request timestamps, and error information. We use this information to operate, troubleshoot, and protect the Service.
If you choose to allow analytics through our cookie notice, Google Analytics may also collect cookie-based information about how the website is used so we can measure and improve it. We do not load Google Analytics unless you agree.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information as necessary to provide the Service you request, meet legal obligations, or pursue legitimate interests such as securing and maintaining the Service, subject to your rights. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent as permitted by applicable law.
AI features involve sending the content needed for your request to external AI or transcription providers. Depending on the feature, this may include document text, images, audio, transcripts, note content, chat messages, or Feynman answers. For example, transcription processes the audio you submit, while AI chat uses your question and relevant note content to generate a response.
We request microphone, camera, or photo-library access when needed for features you choose to use. Microphone recording starts when you initiate it. Supported mobile versions can continue an active recording in the background or while the screen is locked. Recordings are submitted for processing when you choose to submit them through the relevant feature. Photo-library access may also be requested when you choose to save an exported image.
You can manage device permissions through your operating-system settings. Denying a permission may prevent the related feature from working. Only submit information you are authorized to share, including information about other people.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share information needed to operate the Service with providers that support the features you use:
We also use hosting and infrastructure services to run the Service. External providers process information needed for their roles under their applicable service terms and privacy policies.
We may disclose information when required by law or valid legal process, or when necessary to protect rights, safety, and the security of the Service. If the Service is involved in a merger, acquisition, or transfer of business assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable data-protection requirements.
We use HTTPS/TLS to encrypt data in transit between your device and the Service. Passwords for email/password accounts are stored as salted, one-way hashes using Argon2id, never in plain text. We use authentication and access controls to help protect account information and study content.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please protect your sign-in credentials and device access.
We retain account information and study content to provide the Service, subject to the deletion process described below. Technical and support information is retained as needed for its operational, security, support, or legal purpose.
You can request account deletion in Settings. When your request is accepted, access to your account is disabled immediately and active sessions are revoked. After 30 days from your request, we manually delete your account information and associated study content, including uploaded files. Permanent data deletion is not immediate. Records that we are legally required to retain are kept only for the applicable purposes and retention periods.
Deleting your StudyTok AI account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel it separately through the App Store or Google Play. Once study content has been permanently deleted, creating another account or restoring a purchase does not recover it.
Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may have the right to access or obtain a copy of your personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict or object to certain processing, receive portable data, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Contact support@studytokai.com to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before releasing or changing personal information. We will respond within the time limits required by applicable law. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
StudyTok AI is intended for users aged 13 and above, subject to any higher minimum age required by applicable law. Users under the age of legal adulthood must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate steps to delete it and meet applicable legal requirements.
The Service and its providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence, where data-protection laws may differ. International transfers are subject to applicable data-protection requirements. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your information.
We use cookies and similar technologies to support website functionality, maintain sign-in, and remember preferences. If you choose to accept analytics, we also use Google Analytics cookies to measure website use and improve the experience. Google Analytics is not initialized when you decline analytics or choose to decide later.
Your accept or decline choice is stored in a preference cookie and local storage for up to one year so we do not ask again. Choosing “Decide later” only hides the notice for the current browser session; it does not enable analytics and we will ask again on a later visit. You can remove cookies and local storage through your browser settings, although disabling required storage may affect some features.
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices or the Service change. The revision date appears at the top of this page. We will notify you of material changes through the Service or email and provide any additional notice or request any permission required by applicable law.
